Untitled (04.22.03)

Sometimes you lose your armor and open your heart
Perhaps some good comes and you find what you seek
Other times you are hurt, devastated and weak
For a time, this life you may want no part

But after awhile, some months or a year
You repair your armor and close yourself to all
There will not be another hurt, you'll not again fall
Yet much as you try, what comes is what you fear

Your armor again broken, a new smile a part of you
She did not mean to and didn't even try
And though she's a friend, in the nights you may cry
For you realize you just don't mean to her what she means to you.

But life goes on and some things come suddenly
As things speed on their unstoppable course
You find that no matter the pain, she's caused you no remorse
For with her in your life, as a friend you get by.
